Grains, such a misunderstood word in food labels. People think because it contains grain it must be good for you...usually processed foods that claim to have grains don’t contain much nutrients at all because certain components have been removed. So how can you tell? Make sure the word WHOLE is part of the grain, like whole wheat flour, and know your grains such as buckwheat, brown rice, quinoa, etc. not only are whole grains good for you, but they have been known to decrease the risk of heart disease and other serious medical conditions.
